Essure
Many women would like to have a tubal ligation but would like to avoid abdominal surgery. Essure is a new, minimally invasive steriliation procedure done vaginally. Essure tubal sterilization is a permanent non-reversible procedure. In clinical trials, there have been no failures (i.e. unintended pregnancies). Essure requires no cutting into the body. Spring-like coils are inserted through the vagina, cervix and uterus and into each fallopian tube. Essure does not contain any hormones and should not interfere with your natural menstrual cycle.
